Five Research Results of Northwest University Won the First Prize of Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology Award
The 2017 Shaanxi Provincial Science and Technology
Award Ceremony was held at Shaanxi Hotel on May 22nd. A total of 251 science
and technology awards were presented, among which 38 won the first prize. Northwest University was honored with five first
prize awards, and four second prize awards, ranking the third in the province with
the best record in history.
Attendees of the ceremony include Hu Heping, Secretary of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, Liu Guozhong, Deputy Secretary of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the governor of Shaanxi, Wang Yongkang, member of the Standing Committee of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Xi’an Municipal Party Committee, and Dai Zhengshe, the Deputy Director of Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress. Vice governor Lu Zhiyuan presided over the meeting and read out the “Decision of Shaanxi Provincial People’s Government on Science and Technology Awards for the year 2017”. The leaders seated on the stage presented certificates to the first prize winners. President Guo Lihong, the winning representatives and the head of Science and Technology Office of Northwest University attended the meeting.
The first prize projects include “Research and application of native microbial oil extraction technology in low permeability oil field” by Professor Chen Fulin, “Mechanism of loess disaster, key prevention and control technology and application in major railway projects” by Professor Wang Jiading, “Application of cavitation – particle symmetry graphic unitary group method in configuration interaction theory” by Professor Wen Zhenyi, “Fermentation synthesis and application of the full-length human collagen” by Professor Fan Daidi, and “Research on the key technology of drug personalized screening and precision therapy” by Professor Chen Chao.
The second prize projects include “Etiological diagnosis technology and comprehensive prevention measures for mentally retarded children in Qinba mountain area” by Professor Zhang Fuchang, “Threshold determination and response mechanism of vegetation evolution in ecologically fragile areas” by Professor Cao Shixiong, “Study on the efficacy of Eucommia ulmoides and its application development” by Professor Zhao Ye, and “Study and application of intelligent processing technology of craniofacial image data” by Professor Geng Guohua.
