Sino Ukrainian Joint Archaeological Conference Held between NWU and the Institute of Archaeology, Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences

From June 5th to 8th, the Sino Ukrainian joint archaeological conference sponsored by Northwest University and the Institute of Archaeology, Academy of Sciences, Uzbekistan and co-sponsored by the State University of Termez was held at the University of Termez. Over 50 scholars from China and Uzbekistan attended the meeting together with officials from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, China’s embassy in Uzbekistan, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
At the opening ceremony, present delegates showed their substantial recognition to the archaeological work jointly carried out by Chinese and Uzbekistan sides. In recent years, the all-around strategic partnership between the two countries has been developed continuously with fruitful results, particularly in the field of humanities, which formed a solid foundation of public support for the development of bilateral relations and enhanced mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
After the opening ceremony, the joint archaeological project team made a presentation of their work. Discussions related to the theme of the meeting were carried out, which also highly appreciated the work carried out by the team led by Professor Wang Jianxin.
