2018 Asia-Pacific University Ranking Released; NWU enters top 200
A few days ago, Times Higher Education (THE) released the 2018 Asia-Pacific University Rankings with a total number of 286 colleges and universities in 13 Asia-Pacific regions and countries on the list. NWU ranked 51st among the selected 101 mainland colleges and universities, ranked third among institutions of higher learning in Shaanxi Province, and ranked 191-200 in the Asia-Pacific region.
With the increasing influence of higher education in the Asia-Pacific region, Thames Higher Education seperately released the ranking of the universities in the Asia-Pacific region for the first time in 2017. The 2018 Asia-Pacific This ranking evaluates the comprehensive performance of universities in 38 countries and regions in East Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania through five indicators : teaching (25%), scientific research (30%), paper citation (30%), international vision (7.5%) and industry revenues (7.5%). This year, China's universities have an outstanding overall performance, ranked first in the number of universities in the list with a total of 101 universities, including 63 mainland univeristies, 6 universities from Hong Kong , 1 university from Macao and 31 universities from Taiwan .
In recent years, NWU has successively carried out deep cooperation with well-known third-party organizations at home and abroad including QS (QS World University Rankings), THE(Times Higher Education), U. S. news, Shanghai Ranking Consultancy, Elsevier, and Cingta Web. Great efforts have been made to analyze strengths and weaknesses with reference to the evaluation factors and put forward proposals for the development of different disciplies, which effectively improves academic reputation and social influence of NWU.
