NWU Student Wins the First Prize of 2013 FLTRP Cup--National English Speaking Contest: Shaanxi Provincial Final
The 2013 FLTRP Cup--National English Speaking Contest: Shaanxi Provincial Final was held in Xi’an Shiyou University on November 16. Undergraduate and graduate contestants from 43 colleges and universities across Shaanxi province participated in the contest. Zhang Jiani, a journalism major sophomore from Northwest University won the first prize. Professor Xuan Jing from NWU School of Foreign Languages was awarded the best instructor for mentoring the students who participated in the contest. The FLTRP Cup--National English Speaking Contest is co-sponsored by the Advisory Committee of Foreign Languages Teaching in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, Advisory Committee of Teaching English for English Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, and the Foreign Languages Teaching and Research Press. It provides students nationwide with a platform to show their integrative competence. NWU students have made outstanding achievements in the competitions of previous years. This year again witnessed NWU’s continuous progress in the rendering of critical thinking capabilities and integrated English language skills to its students.
