President Fang Guanghua Met with the Irish Paliament Delegation

On August 18th, Mr. Pat Brin, the chairman of Diplomacy and Trade Commission in Irish Parliament, together with Mr. Kang Baole, the Irish ambassador, and Mr. Brain Hichi, the secretary of Diplomacy and Trade Commission in Irish Parliament, visited Northwest University and President Fang Guanghua met with the delegation in Taibai Campus. President Fang briefly introduced to the delegation the history, educational philosophy, characteristics, competitive disciplines and a general picture of students in Northwest University in the hope of strengthening the communication and cooperation in medicine and health sciences between Ireland and China. Mr. Pat Brin introduced the recent development of medicine, IT and higher education in Ireland and expressed his warm welcome to students of Northwest University. Ambassador Kang Baole said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ireland in 1979, the bilateral relations between the two countries have been developing steadily. He hoped that Xi’an would continuously play a vital role in the communication and cooperation between the two countries in the future and he would be willing to act as a bridge between Irish universities and Northwest University. After the meeting, President Fang accompanied the delegation to visit Northwest University On-campus Museum. (Office of International Affairs)
