Press Conference of Annual Report on Development of Western Region in China (2014) and Chinese Western Development Forum Held in Beijing

On August 2nd, Press Conference of Annual Report on Development of Western Region in China (2014) (Blue Book of Western China) and Chinese Western Development Forum, co-hosted by Chinese Western Economic Development Research Center in Northwest University and Social Sciences Academic Press, were held in Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing. Mr. He Jian, director of Social Sciences Department in the Ministry of Education, attended the conference, along with experts and scholars from Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Central University of Finance and Economics, Capital University of Economics and Business, Shaanxi Normal University and Northwest University. The Report is the 10th edition of Annual Report on Development of Western Region in China and this year is the 10th year to hold the forum. This annual report, a comprehensive one featured by high quality, nationwide influence and deep researches on hotpots in economics and social development in Western China, was published out of the collaboration of experts and scholars in Western Economic Development Research Center in Northwest University and many other universities and institutions. The press conference was hosted by Yang Qun, the chief editor in Social Sciences Academic Press, and Professor Yao Huiqin from Chinese Western Economic Development Research Center of NWU made the opening speech. The Chinese Western Development Forum, following the press conference, was hosted by Professor Li Zhongmin from Shaanxi Normal University. What’s more, Mr. Chen Yao, researcher from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Zou Dongtao from Central University of Finance and Economics, Professor Sun Jiuwen from Renmin University of China, Professor Zhang Qi from Beijing Normal University, Professor Fang Lan from Shaanxi Normal University, and He Lei, postdoctoral researcher from Qinghua University and some experts from Northwest University School of Economics and Management made statements in the forum. More than ten news media, including mainstream media like Xinhua Daily, Xinhua News Agency and Chinese Social Sciences Weekly, attended the conference and forum, and some websites like China Web live broadcasted the conference and the forum.
