Experts from NWU Attended One Belt and One Road Think Tank Seminar
Contemporary World Studies Center of the International Department of Central committee of CPC called together directors of seven domestic institutes to have a One Belt and One Road Think Tank Seminar in Beijing. Lu Shanbing, deputy director of Institute of Silk Road Studies of NWU, was invited to attend the seminar and introduce the Silk Road research and think tank construction in NWU. The seminar was organized and sponsored by Contemporary World Studies Center of the International Department of Central committee of CPC. At the beginning of the seminar, the explanation and introduction of the coming One Belt and One Road Construction White Paper, national think tank, countries along the Silk Road and some related issues have been made. Experts had communications and discussions on the core public concern with how to establish long-term mechanism of operating domestic think tank and exploit research resources along the Silk Road to promote the construction of One Belt and One Road. Lu Shanbing introduced that NWU has made detailed plans to promote Silk Road research and with emphasis on talking about innovative methods, he explained the international cooperation and effective results of think tank construction of the Silk Road in NWU. Contemporary World Studies Center of the International Department of Central committee of CPC selected some institutes with solid foundation, systematic preliminary work, positive social influence, such as Maritime Silk Road Institute of Huaqiao University, Institute for Central Asian Studies Lanzhou University, Guangdong Research Institute for International Strategies, China-ASEAN Research Institute of Guangxi University, Fudan-Gansu Silk Road Economic Belt Cooperation Development Institute, Yunnan Academy of South Asian Studies and Institute of Silk Road Studies in Northwest University. Experts present at the seminar agreed that all the institutes present will shoulder the joint responsibility of conducting related researches, constructing international think tanks, inviting foreign experts, initiating forums and maintaining regular cooperation and communication.
