President Guo Lihong invited to attend the “B&R” Forum for International Cooperation
On May 14th and 15th, the Belt and Road Forum for international cooperation was held in Beijing. President of Northwest University Guo Lihong attended the opening ceremony, summit meeting and thematic session on think Tank exchanges.
During the Belt and Road forum period, NWU students received television interview and talked about the changes and opportunities brought by the great initiative. There have been a series of B &R related studies and research carried out at NWU. As an institute of higher education located at the starting point of the Silk Road with over one hundred year’s history and culture heritage behind, Northwest University owns exclusive regional and academic strength.
After President Xi put forward the Belt and road proposal, Northwest University responded actively and set up the Institute of Silk Road Studies and Mid-Aisa Institute. Northwest University has made substantial achievements in a series of research and activities including the archaeological research and cultural relics protection along the Silk Road, the communication and integration of different cultures, the coordination of regional social and economic development, international students and local teacher training programs, cooperative exploration of oil and other geological resources, etc.
