The Outlook for the Quality of China’s Economy 2020, co-authored by Prof. Bo Shi, Prof. Xiaojing Chao and other experts from Institute for Economic Development in Western China of NWU, was published by Economic Press China recently. The Institute for which these writers has been working, is the key research base of humanities and social science approved and supported by the Ministry of Education in China. The institute’s chief expert, Prof. Baoping Ren, also serves as the dean of NWU’s graduate school.
Organizations participating in elaborating this annual report also include: Collaboration and Innovation Centre for Shaanxi Macroeconomic Growth and Quality (one of the first batch Philosophy and Social Science Research Bases in Shaanxi Province) and Shaanxi “Provincial Scholars” Innovation Team. As one of NWU’s landmark research results in the field of theoretical economics, The Outlook for the Quality of China’s Economy has been published for 12 volumes since year 2009.
This report centers on the quality of China’s economic development during the past 70 years since the founding of New China. It consists of three parts--the past, the present and the future, and studies the China’s economic development paths, economic growth and its quality, global status, productivity, the evolution and evaluation of China’s national plan and social security management. Based on these issues, the report discussed such China’s realities as developing China’s economy featuring high quality, the making of a supply system fitting to high-quality development, and the supply chain structural reform. The report thenmoves to the future where our goal of modernization has been achieved and the new driver for development has been fostered.
The report has been sponsored by philosophy and social science development report program from the Ministry of Education. Over the years, it has gained more and more attention in academia home and abroad, as its research findings have won multiple domestic and international awards, and have been reprinted and cited in prestigious journals in China and abroad.
