The Affiliated Hospital of NWU· Xi’an No.3 Hospital, which opened to the public in April, 2017, has been approved as a Class A tertiary comprehensive hospital, and as a first-class hospital in China. March 8 2021 witnessed the ceremony for unveiling the plaque that bestowed this title on the hospital. Attending the ceremony were Yang Lianchang, Deputy Director of the Provincial Health Commission of Shaanxi Province; Chang Jiang, Vice President of NWU and a member of the Standing Committee of the NWU Party Committee; Liu Shunzhi, Director of the Municipal Health Commission of Xi’an; Yu Chunfu, Head of the Bureau of Medical Administration of the Provincial Health Commission of Shaanxi Province; Wang Hongyan, Deputy Director of the Municipal Health Commission of Xi’an; leaders from NWU and leaders of all managerial levels from the Hospital.
During the ceremony, Yu Chunfu solemnly read the Letter of Approval for Certifying Xi’an No.3 Hospital as a Class A tertiary comprehensive hospital in Xi’an. NWU Vice President Chang Jiang, along with Yang Lianchang and Liu Shunzhi, jointly unveiled the plaque that reads “a Class A tertiary comprehensive hospital.”
Medical education in China is gaining momentum. Guided by the leading principles of the State Council and the Provincial Government of Shaanxi Province on accelerating innovation in medical education, NWU’s School of Medicine and its affiliated hospitals will grasp opportunities, integrate NWU’s strength, strive for innovation across the board, forge major breakthroughs, cultivate excellent medical talents, serve the needs of local public health development and steer the trends of development. By this means it will explore NWU’s ‘Great Health’ Agenda on discipline development.
