NWU Organizes the 4th International Symposium on Phytochemicals in Medicine and Food

On December 1, the 4th International Symposium on Phytochemicals in Medicine and Food (4-ISPMF) was held in the campus of NWU in Xi’an in an online and offline hybrid method. Sponsored by the International Association of Dietetic Nutrition and Safety (IADNS), the Phytochemical Society of Asia (PSA), Phytochemical Society of Europe (PSE), eFood Journal and Food Frontiers Journal, the event was organized by universities including NWU, Shaanxi Normal University, Dalian Polytechnic University, Jinan University, University of Hongkong, National Taiwan University and University of Macau.

This year, 4-ISPMF invited over 600 leading experts in the field from more than 60 countries and regions across the globe. Prof. Beiwei Zhu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and also the honorary dean of NWU’s school of food science and engineering, served as the Honorary Chairman of the conference. Professor Tianli Yue and Professor Jianbo Xiao, both from NWU’s school of food science and engineering, were appointed to executive chairmen.

Professor Jiang Chang, vice president of NWU, on behalf of NWU, extended a warm welcome to the participants at the opening ceremony. Professor Beiwei Zhu expressed her greetings in the video she sent to the conference.
