Recently, the results of the 2021 "Sanqin Friendship Award" were announced, and Professor Franz Ekkehardt Hahn, a German expert of the School of Chemistry and Materials Science of NWU, was honored with the "Sanqin Friendship Award".
Franz Ekkehardt Hahn is an internationally renowned organometallic and inorganic chemist, Chief Scientist of the European Union's Major Collaborative Research Foresight Program, a Fellow of the Royal Society, and a member of the German Humboldt Foundation (one of the most prestigious international fellowship programs). In 2017, he became an part-time Professor at Northwest University and Head of International Affairs of the International Joint Laboratory for Functional Molecules and Energy Materials.
In recent years, his original and valuable results have been translated into more than 300 academic papers published in top international journals, with more than 13,000 citations; He was invited to give more than 300 presentations and has cultivated more than 70 graduate students and took part in the edit and write of more than 10 books. Together with Prof. Yingfeng Han of NWU, they have established three key research directions in the field of organometallic chemistry, and published several papers in top international chemistry journals such as Chem. Rev. and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.
The "Sanqin Friendship Award" was established in 1999 as the highest honorary award by Shaanxi Provincial Government to honor foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to the economic construction and high-quality social development in Shaanxi. So far, 117 foreign experts have been honored this award, among which there are 7 foreign experts coming from Northwest University.
