China-Central Asia Civil Friendship Sub-Forum co-hosted by NWU

From September 27 to 28, the China-Central Asia Civil Friendship Forum, co-hosted by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, was held in Xi'an. More than 200 participants from all walks of life, including diplomatic envoys from China and Central Asian countries and representatives from local governments, friendship organizations, think tanks, media and enterprises attended the forum online and offline. Wang Yajie, Chairman of NWU Council and Lai Shaocong, Vice President of NWU were invited to attend the opening ceremony. The forum consisted of a main forum on China-Central Asia people-to-people friendship and three parallel sub-forums, in which NWU co-organised the archaeology and cultural heritage protection sub-forum and the Silk Road archaeological achievements online exhibition, and was invited to participate in the education and youth exchange sub-forum.

At the Education and Youth Exchange Sub-forum, Mr. Lai Shaocong delivered a speech on the topic of "Nurturing Communication Ambassadors in the New Era and Promoting Exchange and Mutual Appreciation of Diverse Civilisations". Abderda Musayev, Rector of Bishkek Humanities University in Kyrgyz, who was contacted by NWU, recorded a video on the topic of "Education of the Future, New Challenges, International Integration of Education". Qiu Xiang, a doctoral student of NWU from Uzbekistan, spoke as a representative of international students in Shaanxi.

NWU co-organised the planning and layout of the Silk Road Archaeological Achievements Online Exhibition. Under the title of "The Long Yellow Sands Road - Northwest University's Silk Road Archaeological Achievements Exhibition", the exhibition was divided into three sections: Pioneers of the Silk Road - Explorers in the Northwestern Expedition,New Chapter of the Silk Road -The Chronicle of Joint Archaeology in Central Asia, and The People's Heart to Heart: The Promote of the Central Asian Archaeology on the Construction of "One Belt, One Road". They showcase the origins and development of the archaeology of the Silk Road at Northwest University and the achievements of the university's archaeological work in Central Asia in recent years.
