In the afternoon of June 15th, the opening ceremony of the second Italian Cultural Festival and “Harmony and Coexistence” exhibition of the restoration of cultural relics and artworks of Northwest University was held in Chang’an Campus. Wen Tong, director of Office of the Foreign Affairs, Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, Shang Changchun, secretary-general of the Department of Sino-foreign Cooperation of the Provincial Society of Higher Education, leaders of the university and executives of relevant departments and offices, and all teachers and students of NWU-Salento School of Cultural Heritage and Arts attended the event.
At the signing and appointment ceremony, a total of 13 teaching and research internship bases inside and outside the province signed the memorandum of cooperation with NWU-Salento School of Cultural Heritage and Arts, marking the initial completion of the teaching internship bases of NWU-Salento School of Cultural Heritage and Arts and the initial establishment of the practical teaching mechanism. Vice President of NWU, Prof. Chang Jiang awarded the appointment letter to the 2022 student members of the teaching supervision team from the NWU-Salento School of Cultural Heritage and Arts, and director of the Publicity Department of NWU, Prof. Tian Minggang awarded the appointment letter to the student members of the teaching evaluation team of the School.
The Italian Cultural Festival was held to stimulate students’ interest and motivation in learning professional knowledge and to strengthen their ideal of “integrating the East and the West and serving the country”. The theme of this year’s festival is “Mediterranean Cultural Heritage Protection”, which includes a Sino-Italian cultural salon, an exhibition of restoration results, lectures on Sino-Italian culture, Italian film appreciation, and an Italian language learning exchange session. As one of the important parts of the festival, the “Harmony and Coexistence” exhibition of the restoration of cultural relics and works of art focused on the two years of Han and Tang fresco copying works and the restoration of cultural relics and works of art related learning achievements of the students of the NWU-Salento School of Cultural Heritage and Arts.
