On July 15th, the 40th Anniversary Commemorative Conference for the graduation of 1977, 1978 and 1979 alumni of Northwest University and the fourth alumni return activities were held on Chang’an Campus of NWU. More than 900 alumni from home and abroad returned to their alma mater, reminiscing about the time of their youth and talking about the depth of their love for their alma mater.
Representatives of old teachers and school leaders attended the conference. 1977, 1978, 1979 and other grades returned to the university. Alumni and representatives from all walks of life attended the conference, totaling more than 1,100 people.
The Fringe Ceremony has become a rite of passage for each graduating class in recent years, and the Lantian Jade Seal has become a symbol and bond of eternal friendship between the alma mater and each graduating class. At the meeting, the Fringe Ceremony was held and the Lantian Jade Seal Ceremony was awarded to the representatives of the new alumni who had returned to the university to return to the Ziwei Garden to be graduates again. Representatives of returning alumni presented flowers to representatives of old teachers and professors, thanking them for their cultivation and accompanying growth. Representatives of alumni and current students performed the poem recitation “Forty Years of Love and Thoughts” and sang “The Story of Northwest University”.
After the conference, the school arranged campus visits, canteen meal, faculty (department) teachers and students symposium, museums and libraries visits and other various homecoming activities, prepared a homecoming gift packages including 120th anniversary album, commemorative cultural shirts, Lantian Jade Seal, enrollment cards and transcripts, umbrellas, and other items. The university wholeheartedly provided warm and attentive service for the returning alumni, and presented them a memorable and wonderful alumni back to school event.
