On the morning of September 2nd, Marc DAUMAS, Counselor of Higher Education Research and Innovation of the French Embassy in Beijing, Xavier ANTOINE, Science and Technology Attaché of the French Embassy in Beijing, and Mickaël CORDARD, Higher Education Cooperation Attaché of the French Embassy in Beijing, visited Taibai Campus of Northwest University. Lai Shaocong, the Vice President of NWU, attended the discussion and delivered a speech. The relevant officials in charge of the Alliance française of Xi’an, Office of the Scientific Research and Technology, Office of International Cooperation, and the Schools of Life Science participated in the meeting.
At the meeting, Prof. Lai Shaocong welcomed Mr. DAUMAS and his delegation to the university. He pointed out that the university has always taken “open school” as an important development strategy, and actively explore exchanges and cooperation with French universities and research institutes. 2024 will mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, and he sincerely hoped that today's discussion would be an opportunity to promote more substantive cooperation projects between the university and French universities and research institutes in scientific research, language teaching, two-way exchanges between teachers and students, humanistic exchanges and cooperation.
DAUMAS expressed his appreciation to Northwest University for its support and help to Alliance Française Xi’an and the French Higher Education Agency. 2024, France will build a platform for Sino-French cooperation, deepen the dialogue between the two sides in the field of science and technology, and launch a series of cooperation projects to strengthen Sino-French higher education and scientific research cooperation and exchanges in the fields of carbon neutrality, cultural heritage preservation, and urban planning, etc. The Embassy of France is willing to build a bridge of cooperation between Chinese and French universities and colleges.
During the free exchange session, both sides had an in-depth discussion on scientific research cooperation in the field of carbon neutralization, Sino-French cooperation in running schools, international student training, and two-way exchanges between Chinese and French scholars.
