From November 20th to 21st, a delegation of six members, including Fabio Pollice, Chancellor of University of Salento, Italy, and Gennaro Scasselli, Vice Chancellor of University of Salento, Italy, visited Northwest University. Sun Qingwei, Vice President of NWU (presiding over administrative work), greeted the delegation at Chang’an Campus, and the two parties had friendly exchanges on the results and visions of cooperation.
At the annual joint meeting, the Chinese leaders and the Italian officials of the NWU-Salento Facolta di Beni Culturali e Arte reported on the operation of the college, and signed the Talent Cultivation Program (Revised) as the representatives of the two parties. The two parties also discussed the change of JMC members, the selection of Italian permanent staff, the arrangement of Italian offline courses and the expansion of inter-college cooperation. In the Sino-Italian Teachers’ Symposium, the teachers of the two schools had in-depth exchanges on scientific research directions, achievements and cooperation intentions, and expressed their willingness to expand the cooperative relationship in the future.
In the meeting, Pollice gave a keynote speech entitled “The Role of Local Communities in Enhancing the Value of Cultural Heritage”, Prof. Raffaele Cacciaro introduced the overview of the School of Cultural Heritage of the University of Salento, and Prof. Flavia Frisone introduced the undergraduate program and the exchange situation in Italy. The student representatives interacted with the Italian faculty on issues such as course arrangement and study in Italy.
