The movie “Walking Together”, which was produced by Xi’an Radio and Television Group and written by Gong Jie, a professor of the School of Liberal Arts of Northwest University, was broadcasted in the evening of January 4 on the prime time of the CCTV Movie Channel.
Based on the entrepreneurs in Chanba International Port in Xi’an, the film tells the story of two young people, an e-commerce entrepreneur in Xi’an and a girl from Kazakhstan, who help each other on the road of their ideals and open cross-border e-commerce trade between the two countries under the opportunity of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, and at the same time, realize their ideals and become lovers.
The film was commissioned by Xi’an Radio and Television Art Center Co., Ltd. with Jie Gong as the creative planner and co-writer of the first story. Prof. Gong Jie led a team of undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Theatre, Film and Television of NWU to carry out the creative planning and screenwriting work. In recent years, the program of Theatre, Film and Television has focused on combining film and television theory with professional artwork creation, forming a distinctive film teaching and creation characteristics. The creation and successful broadcasting of “Walking Together” will have a positive effect on the internationalization and specialization of the teaching, talent training and discipline construction of our university's relevant majors.
“Walking Together” is also another film work released by Gong Jie Film Creation Studio, the innovation studio by NWU staff, after the documentary film “Asking Fox for Its Skin” (a metaphor which is used to describe a conflict of interest with the object of one’s pursuit, which must not be obtained. Later, it is often used to refer to discussing with an evil person and asking him to sacrifice his own interests, which will definitely not be done.), which was selected as a finalist of IAFFF International Future Eco-Film Festival.
