Recently, Clarivate Analytics updated the latest data of Essential Science Indicators (ESI) in January 2024, and the computer science discipline at NWU has entered the top 1% of the world for the first time. Currently, the number of top 1% disciplines in the world has increased to 12, including Earth Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Agricultural Science, Plant and Animal Science, Environment/Ecology, Biology and Biochemistry, General Social Science, and Computer Science. The number of selected disciplines is tied for the 46th place among universities in mainland China and the 3rd place among universities in Shaanxi Province.
The Basic Science Indicators Database, which is divided into 22 subject areas, is an econometric analysis database based on more than 10 million document records of more than 12,000 academic journals around the world included in Clarivate Analytics’ Web of Science. It is an important indicator tool for measuring academic research performance, tracking the development trend of disciplines, and evaluating the international academic level and influence of national/regional colleges and universities and academic institutions.
