On the morning of April 3, a meeting was held at Northwest University to announce the decision of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee regarding the appointment of the university’s president. The Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and the Shaanxi Provincial Government have decided to appoint Sun Qingwei as the President of Northwest University, with a probation period of one year.
Yang Bin, Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, announced the appointment document and delivered a speech. Wang Shusheng, Deputy Secretary of the Education Work Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Fang Yingman, Director of the Promotion and Education Cadre Office of the Organization Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, and Hu Haining, Minister of the Organization Department of the Education Work Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, were also present. The meeting was presided over by Jiang Lin,Chairman of the NWU Council. Attendees included members of the university’s leadership team, Party Committee members, Discipline Inspection Committee members, Academic Committee members, main responsible persons of various colleges, departments, and affiliated units within the university, deputy directors and directors from the administrative offices, municipal-level or above NPC deputies, CPPCC members, and main responsible persons from various democratic parties and the Overseas Chinese Federation.
