Delegation from Saint Louis University visited Northwest University

On the morning of November 6, a group of six people from Saint Louis University (SLU), including Provost Michael Lewis and Vice President Sheila Manion, visited Northwest University.

Vice President Cao Rong welcomed the delegation from Saint Louis University and introduced the exchange and cooperation between NWU and higher learning institutes in the United States in recent years. She said that the two sides had reached a consensus on cooperation in life sciences and organizing American students of SLU to come to Northwest University, and hoped that in the future the two sides could carry out practical cooperation in more disciplines and fields, which would play a positive role in enhancing the friendly exchanges between China and the United States and promoting high-level international collaboration.

Lewis briefly introduced the development history and advantageous disciplines of SLU, he pointed out that Saint Louis University is one of the comprehensive research universities in the Midwest of the United States, and there is a certain degree of similarity with the two universities in terms of discipline settings, and he is full of expectations for the future cooperation with the two universities. Manning introduced Saint Louis Universitys university-enterprise cooperation, Chinese alumni association and how to raise funds for the universitys development.

At the meeting, the two sides further discussed the new requirements and initiatives for declaring the joint collaborative program of Master of Science in Biology, and indicated that both parties would gradually expand the field of cooperation between the two universities from life sciences to multidisciplinary fields such as international law, health care, regional country studies, environmental sciences, mathematics, management, etc., and set up a mechanism for liaison of faculties and departments, so as to build up a platform for high-quality scientific research cooperation projects and joint cultivation of talents.
