Northwest University signs MOU with Cherepovets State University of Russia

At noon on November 20, the governor of Vologda Region of Russia, Filimonov and his delegation visited Shaanxi Province for exchanges, Governor Zhao Gang met with the delegation, and President Sun Qingwei participated with the governors meeting on behalf of Northwest University. Under the witness of Zhao Gang and Filimonov, NWU signed a cooperation agreement with Cherepovets State University to expand the cooperation and exchange between the two universities in scientific research, mutual visits of teachers and students, and personnel training.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Executive Rector of Cherepovets State University, Riakinova Olga Yurievna, and three other members of the delegation visited NWU, and Vice President Cao Rong met with the delegation.

During the discussion, the representatives of the relevant schools of the two universities discussed the possibility of conducting undergraduate 2+2 joint degree programs and summer programs for students.

Cherepovets State University, located in the city of Cherepovets, Vologda Region, was founded in 1996 as a result of the merger of the Cherepovets State Industrial Institute and the Cherepovets State Pedagogical Institute, and is one of the best universities in the Cherepovets and Volgograd regions. The university has faculties of Information Technology, Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Teacher Training, Business, Innovation and Continuing Education, and more than 50 programs.
