NWU Archaeology-Inspired Cultural Products Exhibited at China-Uzbekistan Commodity Exhibition

From June 2 to 4, 2025, the China-Uzbekistan Commodity Exhibition themed Deepening Cultural and Tourism Integration, High-Quality Service for Belt and Road DevelopmentCivilization Dialogue·Silk Road Resonance was held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. This event was part of the series of activities of the 2nd China-Uzbekistan Subnational Cooperation Forum, co-hosted by Shaanxi Province (as the lead Chinese province) and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan.

The Jade Gui Water Cup draws its inspiration from a jade gui (a ritual food vessel) unearthed from an early Western Zhou Dynasty high-ranking noble tomb at the Xitou Ruins in Xunyi, Shaanxi Provincea site recognized as one of the 2022 Top 10 Archaeological Discoveries. Crafted using high-level digital modeling technology combined with traditional Jingdezhen porcelain techniques, its exquisite patterns and rich symbolism fully demonstrate the profound depth of Chinese ritual culture.

The China-Uzbekistan Silk Road Archaeology stamp pack was jointly issued by China Post and Uzbekistan Post to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Uzbekistan. The stamps feature the heart-shaped gold head ornament and the Sphinx-shaped Neck Pendant excavated by the China-Uzbekistan joint archaeological team from the Sazagan and Rabot Ancient Ruins in Samarkand. They showcase the important efforts made by Chinese and Uzbek research teams through close cooperation to restore the historical features of the Silk Road.
