On September 19, the 7th Qian Qihu Lecture and the Qian Qihu Young Scholars Forum, hosted by NWU, were held in Yulin. The lecture brought together high-level scientific and technological resources in rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering to serve the green and low-carbon transformation of the Yulin Energy and Chemical Industry Base and the safety assurance of major projects. Qian Qihu and Zhu Hehua, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Li Haibo, secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Wuhan Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Zhang Fei, member of the Party Leadership Group of the Yulin Municipal Government; Li Shaojun, deputy director of the Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (presiding over the institute’s work), and Shi Xilin, deputy director of the Institute; Dong Xiaoqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Taiyuan University of Science and Technology Committee and vice president of the university; Zhang Zhifei, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Northwest University Committee and vice president of the university; and more than 300 experts, scholars and young researchers in science and technology from universities, research institutes, engineering organizations and academic journals at home and abroad attended the conference.
