NWU Held the Signing Ceremony of Zhao Wangyun Art Inheritance Museum

On the morning of July 10th, the signing ceremony for the joint construction of Zhao Wangyun Art Inheritance Museum between Northwest University and the families of Mr. Zhao Wangyun was held in Northwest University Museum at Taibai campus. President Guo Lihong and national first-class artist Zhao Zhenchuan, family of Mr. Zhao Wangyun, co-signed the Agreement on Cooperation and Joint Construction of the Zhao Wangyun Art Inheritance Museum and the Memorandum.



On behalf of Mr. Zhao Wangyun’s family, Zhao Zhenchuan expressed his gratitude to Northwest University for co-constructing the Zhao Wangyun Art Inheritance Museum. He introduced his father, Mr. Zhao Wangyun, as the artist who "loves the country, loves art, and loves life", and who depicts his extraordinary artistic life of founding Chang'an School of Painting in Northwest China with the touch of his art strokes, expressing his deep hope to promote Chinese art and establish cultural confidence in Northwest China.


Guo Lihong pointed out that as a painting school with important influence and artistic charm, the Chang'an School of Painting is a unique heritage in the art field of Shaanxi, an important foundation of the western art industry, and a banner in the field of art in our province. He said that Northwest University will actively promote the implementation of the "Cultural Northwest University-The Chinese Cultural Brand Project" represented by Zhao Wangyun Art Inheritance Museum, and make greater contributions to the construction of Shaanxi as a strong cultural province. 


Zhao Wangyun, who is the founder of the "Chang'an School of Painting", was a pioneer of the popular artistic trend of Chinese painting in the 20th century, and made important contributions to the innovation of contemporary Chinese painting. According to the agreement, Northwest University and Zhao Wangyun’s relatives will cooperate in the construction of the Zhao Wangyun Art Inheritance Museum, which will focus on displaying the works of famous artists such as Zhao Wangyun and his disciples, including Mr. Huang Zhou, Mr. Fang Jizhong, Mr. Xu Shuzhi, Mr. Zhao Zhenchuan and other famous artists. Through exhibitions, academic exchanges, art research, talent cultivation, and promotion of digital museum, the museum will exert its diversified functions and cultural education effects, and be built into an important window for people at home and abroad to understand and appreciate Shaanxi's fine arts, a place of art and academic platform for arts research and exchanges, thereby effectively enhancing the influence of Chinese civilization and Shaanxi cultural construction. The Zhao Wangyun Art Inheritance Museum will also serve as a non-profit public museum. It will open to the public for free, and further activate the cultural market in Shaanxi Province.
