Two professors based at Northwest University have been hounoured as part of the 2020 China’s State Council Special Allowance List, announced the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Shaanxi Province. They are Professor Wang Jiading from Department of Geology, and Professor Qu Jian from Art School. To date, 101 experts at Northwest University have been shortlisted for this honour.
China’s State Council Special Allowance is a strong endorsement of contributions by high-level professionals and highly-skilled personnel. It started at 1990 and selects its candidates every two years.
The allowance is awarded by the Stated Council to senior experts with outstanding achievements in fields including natural sciences, education, social sciences. These experts are all elected by their peers in recognition of distinguished achievement in their respective fields.
