35 Northwest University courses selected as the 2021 “First-class Undergraduate Courses” in Shaanxi Province

Recently, Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government announced its list of provincial first-class undergraduate courses in 2021. 35 Northwest University (NWU) courses are selected, among which 26 courses are recommended to participate in the evaluation of national “First-Class undergraduate courses”.


In recent years, with an aim to fulfill China’s goal of achieving new progress in higher education in the new era, NWU has comprehensively improved the quality of curriculum construction by reshaping its concepts of teaching, improving its curriculum system and transforming its methods of teaching. Up to now, 17 NWU courses are included in the list of first national “First-Class undergraduate courses”, and 56 NWU courses have been rated as “First-Class undergraduate courses” in Shaanxi Province.


In its next stage, NWU will keep focused on improving teaching quality, work hard for a better undergraduate training scheme, and build an undergraduate training system and a curriculum system that are aligned with the development goal of a research university. Meanwhile, NWU will raise new thoughts in curriculum development, further integrate information technology in the classroom, encourage innovation in class organization, and guide teachers to use various teaching methods including blended learning, flipped classroom, seminar-style teaching. NWU will also pay more efforts to build first-class undergraduate courses, promote excellent teaching cases throughout the country, thus helping boost the quality of teaching and learning nationwide.
