Northwest University holds 2021 graduation and degree awarding ceremonies

On the afternoon of July 2, Northwest University’s (NWU) 2021 graduation ceremony was held at its Chang’an campus stadium. All school leaders, representatives of faculty members and students attended the ceremony, and expressed their best wishes to 6,009 graduates who are about to start a new chapter in their life. Wang Yajie, party secretary of NWU Party committee, gave his heartfelt wishes to the graduates. Guo Lihong, president of NWU, also addressed the class 2021. Qin Tian, representative of class 2021 international students, delivered his graduation speech via video link due to the epidemic. He reminisced about how he strived to achieve his full potential during his time at NWU, and expressed his gratitude to NWU and, his reluctance to his beloved university.


On July 3 and 4, NWU’s 2021 degree awarding ceremony was held at its Chang’an campus stadium where President Guo turned the tassel for each graduate from each school, department and institute. Then the dean of each school or department conferred the degree certificates to each graduate. After that, the three took a photo together. Since 2015, President Guo has turned the tassel and been taken photos with nearly 40,000 graduates, making the degree awarding ceremony an integral part of the culture of NWU.
