Recently, the superior foreign affairs department has approved that NWU would be able to “independently examine and approve the temporary business visits to Hong Kong and Macao of the staff of NWU and its affiliated enterprises and institutions except the members of university leadership” from August 1, 2021. This is another breakthrough in the field of independent foreign affairs examination and approval after NWU became the first provincial university in Shaanxi province which has been authorized to examine and approve certain outbound and inbound visits in November 2020. So far, NWU is capable of independently examining and approving all personnel except the members of the university leadership to go abroad or to Hong Kong and Macao for temporary business visits.
With the decentralization of the examination and approval authority, NWU shall earnestly implement management policies for temporary foreign visits issued by national and Shaanxi provincial government since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), establish relevant rules and regulations and improve the process under the guidance of the new contemporary requirements of education opening to the outside world. In the future, Office of International Cooperation (School of International Education) will improve further its work efficiency, make good use of the approval authority, optimize the approval process for the outbound teachers and students, shorten the period of examination and approval, boost foreign exchanges, improve the efficiency of the visits, fully promote the internationalization and support the the construction of "Double First Class" of NWU.
