NWU Professor speaks at International Symposium on "Yan'an Spirit and Poverty Alleviation in China"

On July 31st, the International Symposium on "Yan 'an Spirit and China's Poverty Alleviation" sponsored by China-Africa Institute and co-organized by Shaanxi Provincial Foreign Affairs Office was held in Yan'an City. Professor Li Hao, director of NWU Chinese Culture Research Center, was invited to the seminar.


Professor Li delivered a keynote speech with the theme of "Yan'an and Chinese Traditional Culture" at the first speech session hosted by Mr. Rahmantala Osman, resident representative of the African Union Representative Office in China. He introduced the relations between Yan 'an and Chinese traditional culture from six aspects: history and culture, geography and culture, ecological culture, Silk Road culture, traditional poetry and folk culture.


China-Africa Institute was established on April 9, 2019 in accordance with the instructions of strengthening China-Africa cooperation, in particular to promote the "people-to-people exchange initiative" by President Xi Jinping at the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). Its purpose is to deepen mutual learning of civilizations, exchange governance and development experience with African countries, promote the Belt and Road cooperation, develop a future-oriented comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership, and jointly build a closer China-Africa community of common destiny and provide intellectual and talent support to each other.
