NWU visits the Shaanxi Province Foreign Affairs Office to Promote China-Uzbekistan Silk Road Archaeological Stamp Issue

On April 19th , Chang Jiang, member of NWU Committee, Vice President and general director of the 120th anniversary celebration, went to the Shaanxi Province Foreign Affairs Office to have an in-depth exchange of views with Yao Hongjuan, director of the Shaanxi Province Foreign Affairs Office and Executive Vice President of the Shaanxi Province Friendship Association, on the promotion of the “China-Uzbekistan Silk Road Archaeology” stamp issue. The relevant leaders attended the discussion.

Chang Jiang introduced the background of promoting the issuance of China-Uzbekistan Silk Road archaeological stamps and the current progress of related work. He said that the promotion of the issuance of the stamps is of great significance to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Uzbekistan. During the previous period, NWU has actively communicated with the postal department of China, the Embassy in Uzbekistan and the Ethnoarchaeological Centre of the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences to promote the joint issuance of stamps, and has made positive progress. He hoped that the Shaanxi Province Foreign Affairs Office would give strong support to facilitate the issuance of the stamps.

Yao Hongjuan congratulated Northwest University on its 120th anniversary and highly appreciated the work done by NWU in promoting the joint issue of stamps between China and Uzbekistan. She pointed out that promoting the issuance of stamps is not only a positive implementation of the spirit of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of China and five Central Asian countries, but also add splendor to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the five Central Asian countries. She said that the Shaanxi Province Foreign Affairs Office would actively communicate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and do its utmost to support Northwest University in the stamp issue.
