On the afternoon of June 16th , the first Italian Cultural Festival was held at Chang’an Campus of Northwest University. NWU leaders, representatives of foreign teachers, all faculty members and students of the NWU-Salento Facolta di Bendi Cultuali e Arte attended the event.
Vice President, Prof. Chang Jiang pointed out in his speech that, as the first Chinese-foreign cooperative institution of NWU, the NWU-Salento Facolta di Bendi Cultuali e Arte has always paid attention on the integration of the university philosophy, discipline development and talent training of the two partner universities, contributing to the high-quality development of the university’s “double first-class” construction. He said that this cultural festival, as a special event for NWU’s 120th anniversary, is to utilize culture and art as a medium to let students and teachers really “get to know Italy” and to lay a more solid foundation for further international cooperation between the two universities in talent training and scientific research.
The Dean of the NWU-Salento Facolta di Bendi Cultuali e Arte introduced the achievements of the school in terms of operational characteristics, talent training and innovation in education and teaching management in the past year since its establishment. He suggested that through this cultural festival, students could be fully motivated to learn professional knowledge and thrive to become an internationalized talent with better understanding of cross-cultural communication.
At the launch ceremony, current NWU foreign teachers Marcella Festa and Francesca Clarice Monteith were presented with the letters of appointment to be the language and culture tutors at the NWU-Salento Facolta di Bendi Cultuali e Arte.
