On 27 June, the graduation ceremony and concert for the 2022 students was held in the stadium of Chang'an Campus. All university leaders and representatives of faculty and students witnessed and wished 6088 graduates successfully completed their studies and started a new voyage of life.
Before the graduation ceremony officially started, video messages from the deans of respective schools and departments of NWU were displayed on the screen in turns, they expressed their blessings and expectations for the graduates. The flash mob “Breaking the Waves”, brought by the university students’ choir and representatives of the graduates, ignited the enthusiasm of the audience.
The administrative leaders presented awards to the winners of the 2022 Northwest University Outstanding Students, the 2022 Shaanxi Province Outstanding Graduates and the Outstanding Student Leaders. Later on, the university leaders also presented the graduates’ representatives with jade seals as souvenirs. Since 2015, NWU has distributed a total of nearly 56,000 jade seals to our graduates.
At the ceremony, students representatives recalled with affection of their unforgettable experience at NWU and expressed their gratitude and farewell to the university. They are: Wen Xue from the School of Chemistry and Materials Science, winner of the 2022 Northwest University Outstanding Students Award; Gao Peng from the School of Physics, representative of provincial outstanding graduate; and Pankaj Raturi from the School of International Education, representative of graduating international students.
The graduation ceremony was followed by the Northwest University 2022 Graduation Concert and the final contest of the 32nd Campus Singing Competition. All the graduates wrote down the words they wanted to say on the paper planes, and the planes were flown from the audience to the stage. And the concert came to an end with the chorus of the Northwest University Song.
The graduation ceremony and concert was broadcast on CCTV, Shaanxi Headline, cnwest.com, Weibo Campus, NWU official account of wechat, Weibo, Tiktok, Snack Video, etc. and received over 500,000 views.
