“ Learning from Past Sages, Acting as Modern Cultural Ambassadors” Cultural Products Launch Event for Crossing Cultures in Two Golden Ages: Stories from the Han and Tang Dynasties was successfully held

On the morning of July 16th, Learning from past sages, acting as Modern Cultural Ambassadors --Cultural products for crossing cultures in two golden ages: stories from the Han and Tang Dynasties was successfully launched in Xi'an. This event was hosted by Shaanxi Provincial Government, jointly organized by the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, Northwest University, Culture and Tourism Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, Northwest University, the International Han and Tang Institute and related departments. A total of nearly 100 Chinese and foreign representatives from political, academic and artistic fields attended this cultural event. Prof. Lai Shaocong, member of the NWU Council and Vice President of the University, presided over the event.

The cultural products for crossing cultures in two golden ages: stories from the Han and Tang Dynasties are created by the International Han and Tang Institute, which aims to tell famous Chinese historical stories and spread Han and Tang culture through the successive release of Chinese-English books, Chinese-English audios, Han and Tang story collection micro-videos and  Han and Tang story series of cultural creative products. At present, 30 audio stories from the Han and Tang Stories for Chinese and Foreign Cultural Exchange Collections" have been officially launched on Himalaya. The International Times, a Malaysian Chinese language newspaper, has published a continuous column commentary for these audio stories, and 17 sinologists from 11 countries, including Italy, Japan, India and Kazakhstan, have sent in commentary videos. The book with the same title will be published and released in the near future to meet with readers from different countries.

The International Han and Tang Institute has hosted and carried out more than ten high-end Chinese and foreign humanities exchange programs and activities, including: the International Forum on Chinese Humanities, the first Shaanxi Provincial International Student Cultural Festival, the first Shaanxi International Model Competition among international students of higher learning and institutes, one of the series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India - the International Xuanzang Forum and Eastern Wisdom Art Exhibition, Chinese Language Teacher Training Program supported by Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Advanced Workshop on Chinese Culture along One Belt and One Road Countries sponsored by the Department of International Collaboration of the Ministry of Education, Forums of African Ambassadors Delegation, International Forum on Silk Road Art Education, Chinese Culture Experience Camp of Schwarzman College of Tsinghua University, Development Workshop for Officials of the Ministry of Agriculture of Chad, etc. In total, more than 150 Chinese and foreign scholars and nearly 1,000 international students from more than 50 countries have participated in these programs, which have significant influence in the field of Chinese and foreign cultural exchanges.
