On the morning of May 14th, the Ambassador Arziev Farhod of Uzbekistan to China visited Northwest University. Wang Yajie, Chairman of the NWU Committee Council, and Chang Jiang, Vice President of NWU, met with the ambassador and exchanged ideas with him at Taibai Campus. Representatives from the China International Cultural Communication Center Shaanxi Liasion Office and relevant NWU offices and departments attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Wang Yajie welcomed the ambassador’s visit and introduced the fruitful cooperation between NWU and Uzbek universities and research institutions in the field of talent cultivation, jointly archaeological exavation, platform construction and cultural exchange. In particular, in terms of talent training, since the establishment of the School of Central Asia in 2014, NWU has trained more than 100 international students of Uzbekistan, and some of the outstanding international students have become an important force in the joint archaeology between China and Uzbekistan. He hoped that through this important opportunity of China-Central Asia Summit, the educational exchange and cooperation between the university and Uzbekistan would be further strengthened.
Ambassador Arziev Farhod stated that Uzbekistan has always attached importance to developing educational cooperation with China, and Uzbek universities and research institutes have long-standing and close cooperation with Northwest University. The visit to Northwest University in the run-up to the China-Central Asia Summit is of great significance to further strengthen educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. In the future, he hopes that Uzbekistan universities and Northwest University will further deepen their cooperation and develop more new cooperation in talent training, joint archaeology, holding academic forums, and cooperation in establishing research institutions.
After the meeting, Ambassador Arziev Farhod visited the university museum.
