The President of University of Essex Visited Northwest University

In the morning of June 7th, Anthony Foster, President of the University of Essex and his delegation visited Northwest university. President Guo Lihong attended the discussion and delivered a speech, and the Director of International Cooperation of the University of Essex, the head of China affairs, and the executives of relevant schools and departments of NWU attended the meeting.

Anthony stated that Northwest University is an important strategic partner of University of Essex, and this visit aims to further consolidate and deepen the cooperation between the two universities in research cooperation and mutual visits of students and faculty. He also suggested that 2024 is the 60th anniversary of the University of Essex, and invited Northwest University to participate in the celebration.

During the discussion and exchange session, the two universities discussed the cooperation on personnel training, scientific research cooperation and humanities exchange in related disciplines and explored more cooperation and exchange projects.

The University of Essex is the first partner university of our joint-degree program (Information Science and Technology undergraduate education program). In order to increase the international atmosphere of the university and let more students and teachers know more about the University of Essex and enhance the cooperation and exchange programs between the two universities, the Northwest University and the University of Essex cooperated in organizing a publicity week for the University of Essex from June 7th to 8th. The event included a fun quiz, a meeting with the students of the Sino-British program and an experience sharing session.
