NWU was Invited to Attend China-Central Asia Development Knowledge Exchange Meeting

On July 27th, the China-Central Asia Development Knowledge Exchange Meeting, organized by the China International Development Knowledge Center, was held in Beijing. Lu Hao, Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council and Director of the China International Development Knowledge Center, attended the opening ceremony. Representatives from various countries and institutions, including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Asian Development Bank, participated in the conference. NWU was invited to attend.

During the thematic conference session, Chang Jiang, Vice President of NWU, delivered a presentation titled Harnessing University Characteristics and Advantages to Continuously Promote High-Quality Development of China-Central Asia Relations. He reported on Northwest Universitys explorations and practices in areas such as platforms and think tanks, Silk Road archaeology, talent cultivation, as well as cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchange. Chang Jiang emphasized that the efforts of Northwest University are just a microcosm of Chinese universities contributions to promoting high-quality development of China-Central Asia relations. Moving forward, Northwest University will focus on the outcomes of the China-Central Asia Summit and leverage its strengths in Silk Road archaeology, resources and energy, carbon neutrality, regional poverty reduction, and cultural exchanges to actively contribute to the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and the formation of a closer China-Central Asia community with shared destinies.

During the conference, representatives from domestic and foreign political, industrial, academic, and research sectors delivered speeches. The China International Development Knowledge Center was established in 2015 as announced by President Xi Jinping during the United Nations Development Summit. Its mission is to research and exchange development theories and practices suitable for each countrys context.
