Delegation of Kazakh Alumni and Government Representatives Visits NWU

On the afternoon of July 30th, two Kazakh alumni of our university, Tilektes Adambekov, member of the Lower House of the Eighth Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Olzhas Suleimenov, member of the Kurultai under the President of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Youth Policy Committee, and Chairman of the Republican Public Youth Organization, led a delegation of 9 members from the Kazakh government and enterprises to visit our university. President Guo Lihong attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

In their speeches, MP Adambekov and Chairman Suleimenov expressed that Xian has become their second hometown, and Northwest University is their home in China. Their experiences of studying and living at Northwest University were wonderful times, and they were delighted to return to their alma mater today. They encouraged Kazakh students studying here to cherish their learning opportunities, strive to learn Chinese language and specialized knowledge, and become contributors to the construction of the China-Kazakhstan community with shared destinies. MP Adambekov pointed out that the visiting delegation consists of representatives from various sectors in Kazakhstan, and he hopes that through this visit, both sides can deepen discussions on cooperation in various fields and enhance exchanges between China and Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, delegation members introduced their industry backgrounds and cooperation needs, while relevant colleges of our university and the Kazakhstan Research Center provided detailed introductions about academic strengths, talent cultivation, research advantages, and cooperation plans.

Before the meeting, the delegation members visited the university museum, the School of International Education, international student dormitories and classrooms, as well as the representative office of the Kazakhstan International Integration Foundation in Xian. After the meeting, the visiting guests had discussions with Kazakh students studying at NWU.
