From July 26 to 29, the 2024 “Chinese Bridge” Educators’ Exchange Program, organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under the Ministry of Education and hosted by Northwest University, was successfully held. The event welcomed 15 representatives from 10 schools in Russia, France, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, South Korea, and Vietnam.
The purpose of the program was to enhance international participants’ understanding of China’s national conditions, language, and culture, and to promote communication and mutual trust between Chinese and foreign schools, further establishing cooperative partnerships.
The opening ceremony for the exchange program was held on the morning of July 26 at Taibai Campus. Vice President Cao Rong delivered a welcoming speech to the visiting delegation and introduced the university’s educational achievements and internationalization efforts. She expressed hope that this event would serve as an opportunity to strengthen interactions with educators from various countries in areas such as cultural exchange and higher education development. She emphasized the importance of pragmatic cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, educational collaboration, and other fields, contributing to the mutual understanding and connectivity of people in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. During the ceremony, Cao Rong signed an inter-university cooperation agreement with St. Petersburg State University of Economics on behalf of Northwest University.
The event featured a rich and diverse program, including activities such as traditional Chinese medicine health practices, Chinese painting workshops, specialized lectures, and participation in the second International Symposium on Chinese Humanism. Additionally, the visiting educators toured historical and cultural landmarks such as the Terracotta Warriors, the Forest of Stone Tablets, and The Xi’an City Wall. These activities showcased the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture and the dynamic energy of modern development, while also fostering in-depth exchanges and collaboration among Chinese and foreign educators.
