From October 23 to 26, the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition (iGEM) was held in Paris, France, with 414 top teams from more than 50 countries and regions around the world, totaling more than 4,000 participants, and the NWU-CHINA-A team succeeded in winning the global gold medal, which is the third time that the NWU team has won the global gold medal of the event. iGEM NWU-CHINA-A team has been performing well in international competitions for eight consecutive yearssince 2017, and has won three gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
The award-winning NWU-CHINA-A team consisted of students and faculty members from the School of Life Sciences, and six of them, Lei Lei, Li Xiang, Fan Mingqin, Wang Hongjing, Yang Yufan, and Qu Yitong, went to Paris, France, to participate in the offline event.
