In the afternoon of January 24th, the Spring Festival Celebration of the Year of the Snake 2025 and the Recognition Ceremony of “Role Models Around Us” were held in Taibai Campus. Chinese and foreign teachers and students gathered together to welcome the arrival of the Chinese New Year.
The event started with a video on the theme of “In the Light, There are Answers”, which reviewed the highlights of the international students’ year of 2024 , and showed the learning, life and growth trajectory of the year.
At the event, President Sun Qingwei sent his New Year’s blessings and greetings to the students and teachers staying at the university over the holiday in his speech. Students from Uzbekistan, Thailand, Myanmar and Turkmenistan brought their unique national dances. Afterwards, an appointment ceremony for the 2025 International Student Residence Hall Floor Leaders was held, and the representatives of the floor leaders delivered a speech expressing their determination to actively serve the students and teachers and promote harmony in the residence halls.
In the fun games and traditional handicraft activities such as writing Chinese characters, paper-cutting and making lanterns, the students experienced the festivities and fun of Chinese New Year and deepened their knowledge and love of Chinese culture. The students took pictures with their crafts and danced to the music to welcome the joyful and peaceful “Chinese New Year”.
