On the morning of February 16, a delegation of 9 persons from the Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), led by Anton Duchkov, deputy director of the Institute, visited Northwest University. The two parties discussed and exchanged views on deepening scientific cooperation, theoretical research and transformation of achievements.
Anton Duchkov expressed his gratitude to Northwest University for its reception and introduced in detail the development history, key research areas and international cooperation practices of Trofimuk Institute. He said that the Institute has long been committed to petroleum geological exploration, geophysical technological innovation and energy resources development research, and that it has significant complementarity with Northwest University in terms of talent training and transformation of scientific research results.
Representatives of both parties introduced in detail the basic situation of the faculties and laboratories, the direction of disciplines, scientific research platforms, the current status of international cooperation and the demand for international cooperation, etc. The two parties reached a consensus on the cooperation in three aspects, namely, inviting experts from each other to carry out field scientific research, applying for joint international scientific research cooperation projects, and carrying out joint cultivation of talents.
