On the afternoon of March 7th, the "Global Vision · Academic Writing" online lecture series, jointly organized by NWU and Bulacan State University in the Philippines, officially commenced. Dr. Teody San Andres, President of Bulacan State University, and Vice President Cao Rong of NWU attended the online opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Also present were Dr. Warlito M. Galita,Vice President of Bulacan State University, the head of the International Office, the keynote professors of the lecture series, the Director of the Office of International Cooperation(School of International Education) of NWU, the Chinese Dean of the Confucius Institute, and 34 faculty and students participating in the lecture training.
During the opening ceremony, Cao Rong pointed out that the joint organization of this online English writing lecture series by the two universities is a proactive practice of leveraging the resources of the Confucius Institute at Bulacan State University, deepening inter-university cooperation, and empowering international exchanges with digital technology. The aim is to provide a high-level learning platform for our faculty and students, further enhancing their capabilities in international communication.
Dr. Teody San Andres stated that English, as a global lingua franca, serves as a bridge between different worlds and cultures, and is fundamental to research and education. Bulacan State University has selected its most outstanding scholars to help faculty and students better master English, improving their ability to express and communicate clearly and coherently in English.
The online English writing lecture series, jointly organized by the two universities, officially started on March 7th. It will be held weekly, with a total of 12 sessions. The content will cover topics such as identifying research topics, the role of literature reviews, and research design, helping our faculty and students improve their English writing and expression skills, and enhancing their academic development and professional competitiveness.
