Delegation from Kazakhstan's Kunayev University Visits NWU

From April 23 to 25, 2025, the 2025 Sports and Culture Festival was held at the West Stadium of NWUs Chang’an Campus.

During the opening ceremony, uniformed student and faculty contingents—including flower bouquet bearers, colorful flag teams, and referees—marched proudly under the guidance of the national flag, university flag, and games flag, chanting spirited slogans and holding banners high.

Students from each school acted as disciplinary ambassadors, delivering a stunning 30-second creative flash mob that integrated academic characteristics in innovative ways, captivating the audience with their unique spins on professional themes.

During the cultural performances, the national intangible cultural heritageHengshan Waist Druma folk dance, took the stage first, showcasing its bold, rugged, vigorous, and humorous style. Four hundred students from aerobics and rhythmic gymnastics classes, with their graceful and upright postures, painted the beauty and vitality of youth through performances blending flexibility and strength.

Nine sportsincluding martial arts, wrestling, basketball, soccer, table tennis, and badmintoncame into view, as students from sports elective courses demonstrated the diversity of the universitys specialized physical education programs through their energetic movements.

The faculty art troupe presented the dance Xiang Wang Xing (March of the Elephant King), their powerful and resolute steps evoking the image of an elephant kings mighty tread, embodying the spirit of unity and collaboration. As dynamic music surged, members of the TW Street Dance Club interpreted the vigor and freedom of youth with fluid choreography.

After three days of intense competition, the games concluded successfully. Notably, CAO Yiqi from the Faculty of Liberal Arts broke the university’s high jump record with a leap of 1.46 meters.

This year, NWU also organized traditional culture through activities such as a campus Martial Arts Festival, a Nezha-themed outdoor adventure, and hands-on experiences in archery, Chinese pitch-pot (touhu), and wooden arrow shooting (mu she), attracting widespread participation from students and staff.
