Delegation from Kazakhstan's Kunaev University Visits NWU

On the morning of April 21, 2025, a delegation of four led by Omirali Zhazira, President of Kazakhstan’s Kunaev University, visited NWU.

Zhazira expressed gratitude for NWU’s reception and provided a detailed introduction to Kunaev University’s history, academic programs, disciplinary strengths, and collaborations with overseas institutions in Poland, Turkey, and other countries. She expressed the university’s willingness to cooperate with NWU in student cultivation, joint research, and other fields. The Dean of the Law School discussed with the delegation topics such as an undergraduate “2+2” dual-degree program for cultivating foreign-related legal talents, cooperation on an English-taught master's program in international law, two-way curriculum introduction, and collaborative research publications. The Director of the Office of International Cooperation shared NWU’s philosophy and achievements in internationalization with a focus on Central Asia, hoping that both sides could draw on NWU’s cooperation experience with other Central Asian universities to carry out practical collaboration in cultivating foreign-related legal talents.

President SUN Qingwei noted that as economic and trade cooperation between China and Kazakhstan continues to deepen, the demand for foreign-related legal talents has become more urgent, making it essential to expand joint training in this area. He emphasized that as Kazakhstan’s only professional education institution specializing in law, Kunaev University has broad cooperation potential with NWU’s Law School in joint cultivation of foreign-related legal talents and research collaboration.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Joint Judicial AI Laboratory.
