On August 17, the Inaugural Meeting of Northwest Universitys Hong Kong Alumni Association and the Industry-Academia-Research Innovation Forum of Shenzhen Research Institute were held in Shenzhen.

At the inaugural meeting of the Hong Kong Alumni Association, Bai Lirui, Executive Vice President of the association, delivered a work report on the preparation of the Hong Kong Alumni Association. She reviewed the various preparatory work and key milestones in the establishment of the association, and outlined the prospects for its future development. During the meeting, the Reply from the General Alumni Association of Northwest University on Approving the Establishment of Northwest University Hong Kong Alumni Association was read out. Jiang Lin, Chairman of Northwest University Council, and Liu Wei, the first President of the Hong Kong Alumni Association, jointly unveiled the plaque of Northwest University Hong Kong Alumni Association. Jiang Lin presented appointment letters to Jia Shaoxuan (Honorary President of the Hong Kong Alumni Association), Chen Hulin (Honorary President) and Liu Wei (President). Zhang Zhifei issued appointment letters to the Vice Presidents, Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General and Council Members of the association.

In the project roadshow session, four teachers from Northwest University delivered presentations to promote their research projects, namely:

--Zhang Ce (School of Physics) – Intelligent Laboratory Automation Solution Based on Digital Microfluidic Control Technology;

--Niu Siying (School of Information Science and Technology) – Introduction to Near-Infrared Home Urine Tester;

--Li Yang (School of Life Sciences) – Introduction to 93S-1 Project: A Class 1 Innovative Drug for Refractory Epilepsy in Children;

--Zhou Rui (School of Physics) – Application and Industrialization of Optical Fiber Sensing Technology in Smart Cities.

Congratulatory letters were received from alumni associations of Northwest University in Beijing, Hunan, Anhui, Guangdong, Guangxi, Chongqing, Shandong, Shanxi, Liaoning, Heilongjiang (under preparation), Xiamen, Qingdao, Yulin, Guilin, and Australia, as well as from relevant industry chambers of commerce.
