Northwest University Holds Inaugural Meeting for the Newly Established School of Computer Science (School of Software) and School of Electronic Information (School of Artificial Intelligence)

On the morning of August 18, the inaugural meeting for the newly established School of Computer Science (School of Software) and School of Electronic Information (School of Artificial Intelligence), which also included the announcement of leading personnel appointments, was held at the Chang’an Campus. During the meeting, the organizational structure of the two new schools—namely the School of Computer Science (School of Software) and the School of Electronic Information (School of Artificial Intelligence)—was officially announced.

To further optimize the discipline layout, strengthen the development of distinctive disciplines, enhance the university’s overall educational standards and competitiveness, keep pace with cutting-edge technological trends, reshape the discipline ecosystem, and serve national strategies, the university has decided to establish the School of Computer Science (School of Software) and the School of Electronic Information (School of Artificial Intelligence) on the basis of the former School of Information Science and Technology (School of Software).

The responsible person from the Organization Department of the University Party Committee read out the university’s decision on the appointment and removal of leading personnel for the new schools. Jiang Lin, Chairman of the NWU Council, delivered a speech in which he extended congratulations on the establishment of the new schools and the formation of their new leading teams.
