Expert Panel for Higher Education Quality Re-accreditation of International Students Cultivation On-site Review at NWU

From October 23 to 24, 2025, an expert panel for the Higher Education Quality Re-accreditation of international students in China, led by HAN Weichun, former Dean of the International School of the University of International Business and Economics, conducted an on-site review of NWU's education for international students.

At the introductory meeting on the morning of the 23rd, HAN Weichun outlined the objectives, tasks, procedures, and requirements of the on-site quality review. President SUN Qingwei stated that the university would fully cooperate with the expert panel, continuously improve the education system for international students, and strive to create a new phase of high-quality development for Studying at NWU .

The head of the School of International Education presented a work report to the expert panel, providing a comprehensive overview of the universitys internationalization efforts and work related to international students, including main achievements, distinctive features, self-evaluation and improvement initiatives, and future development goals.

During the one-and-a-half-day inspection, the panel reviewed teaching, management materials, and archives related to NWU's education for international students. They conducted site visits to facilities including the library, smart classrooms, the Ancient Architecture Termite Control Research Center, and student canteens. The panel also organized interviews and observed classes.

At the preliminary feedback session on the afternoon of the 24th, the expert panel fully acknowledged the achievements in NWUs work concerning international students. They also provided detailed constructive suggestions for further enhancing the top-level design, improving system construction, elevating the quality of cultivation, and innovating educational programs for international student education.

NWU first successfully passed the Quality Certification for International Students in China in 2017. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the university enrolled a total of 5,685 international students, including 1,869 students from the five Central Asian countries, ranking first among universities in Shaanxi Province. This signifies that the quality and standardized management of international student education at NWU have reached a new level.
