On the morning of December 16, 2025, a delegation from the Representative Office of the League of Arab States (LAS) in China visited Northwest University for an exchange and discussion. SUN Qingwei, President of NWU, attended the discussion and jointly unveiled the “Northwest University LAS Research Center” with the visiting Director of the LAS Representative Office in China, Ahmed Mustafa Fahmy Hafez. The discussion was presided over by Prof. FAN Daidi, Vice President of NWU.
During the discussion, SUN Qingwei and Hafez witnessed the launch ceremony for the compilation of History of the League of Arab States by the School of Area Studies at NWU. Professor HUANG Minxing introduced the writing plan for the book. Both SUN Qingwei and Hafez highly affirmed the academic innovation and significance of the project and jointly suggested that the book be included as an important outcome of the second China-Arab States Summit to be held in China next year.
