On May 31, the Inauguration Ceremony of the School of Qian Xuesen of Northwest University and the Promotion Conference on cultivating top-notch innovative talents by consolidating basic disciplines, emphasizing application and promoting interdisciplinary development were held.
Official approval documents for the establishment of the School of Qian Xuesen of Northwest University and the Qian Xuesen innovative experimental class of the affiliated high school of Northwest University were read out at the ceremony. Afterwards, person-in-charges of relevant institutions jointly unveiled the plaques for the two bodies. Qian Yonggang, Director of the Qian Xuesen Education Committee, was presented with the appointment letter as honorary Dean of the School of Qian Xuesen of Northwest University.
Centering on national strategic needs, the School of Qian Xuesen has launched three initial enrollment directions, namely “AI + Material Science”, Digital Humanities and Embodied Intelligence. It will adopt a “four-in-one talent” cultivation mode to comprehensively consolidate the training system for top talents in basic disciplines. (Academic Affairs Office, School of Qian Xuesen)
